Dozens of firearms, including several untraceable “ghost guns," were taken off the streets during one of the largest gun buyback events held in Westchester County.
Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced on Monday, March 30, that a total of 87 guns were turned in during the event held Saturday, March 28, at Union Baptist Church in White Plains.
The haul included 33 semi-automatic handguns, 30 long guns, and 24 revolvers. Officials also recovered six ghost guns, which lack serial numbers and are often assembled using kits or 3D-printed parts.

Police in Connecticut are holding three men on $3 million bonds apiece after authorities said they smashed their way into a Fairfield home in the middle of the night during an armed robbery.
Kaleem Uthmaan, 25, of Hamden; Naszar Hobby, 20, of New Haven; and Juan Felix, 25, of Monroe, are accused of breaking into a home on Candlewood Road in Fairfield around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, police said. Three men were arrested during an undercover operation aimed at identifying and apprehending individuals attempting to sexually exploit minors online in Connecticut, police said.
The arrests were made Friday, Dec. 19, following several hours of coordinated operations involving North Haven detectives and the FBI’s New Haven and Albany Field Offices, police said.
